Cleaning Made Fun

This morning I tried an experiment... it was something I thought up while relaxing in the tub last night trying to will myself to sleep. I made three lists: A list of chores for Mommy, chores for the boys, and then listed all the rooms for a third list. Then we rolled dice to see what chores we would do. So while I am vacuuming, the kids are cleaning their room. Then when we were done with individual chores we knocked out a room at a time, dusting, cleaning, and organizing. It was fun for both of us because the boys liked rolling the dice and chosing a room, and I liked the help. I was so impressed with their work that afterwards we celebrated by getting a couple toys at the store and then catching a family movie at the dollar theater.

Tomorrow we are celebrating Christopher's birthday.... we got him a bicycle... but Shhhh, don't tell!! Hehehe

More fun with Paint Shop Pro X

I really enjoy this program. My family is all so artistic...I always felt I was the only one without a creative bone in my body. Guess I have a LITTLE creativity in me afterall!

I love this man!!

So, before running off to a meeting at work, DH leaves this note in my laptop.

"I just wanted to tell you that you are the best thing to ever happened to me. You are a wonderful mother and I would never change anything about you. You’re the only thing that keeps me going when things get down. Thank you for everything you have done for me. I love you so much".

Awwwww, what a sweet man!! I love you too hon!

Story of the Traveling Dirty Baby Jammies

Back in 2004 I joined a group of mommies who were pregnant just like me; we were all due in March '05. Talk of morning sickness, hemorrhoids, and ultrasound pictures does wonders for female bonding. I have met several ladies whom I will consider lifetime friends, but the most special of all is my dear friend Terri. We have a lot in common and her seriously funny wit can put any situation in a new perspective. After her son was born, she shared several pictures through the weeks and months of her darling baby Zane, and I noticed how great her fashion sense is. One outfit I particularly loved is pictured below.... Zane's Foxy Jammies. These were passed onto Terri by a friend of hers with equally nice baby fashion sense....

Baby Zane, doing what he does best... walking!! :)

(Click the subject title of this post, or here to see Zane's daddy's amazing t-shirt website! Better yet, click both and see his website & t-shirt page!)

Well, babies have a tendency to grow, and they do it so fast that if you blink, you miss it. Zane tends to have this talent down pact, even more so than my puny little Matthew, whom at 7 months was still under 16 lbs. Knowing how much I LOVED these jammies, Terri made an offer I could not refuse..... she offered to mail them to me! One catch, I had to wait for her husband to wash them. In my attempt to conserve water *wink, wink* I told Terri to send them dirty, since I would have to wash them with my own detergent anyways. Thus the legend of the dirty baby jammies was born.

Just a few short days later a package arrived from USPS. I was so excited! My DH Bobby asked "so, what is in the package?" to which I replied "dirty jammies". He held me close and said "oh really?" I laughed and pulled the jammies out of the envelope... I almost think I saw him shed a tear. All he said was "oh", and walked off.

Baby Matthew, enjoying his Foxy Jammies.

Some day I hope to find another baby hip and cool enough to pass these jammies onto, hopefully one who appreciates the legend of the dirty baby jammies...because you know what? I am not sure I feel like doing laundry...hehehe.

He’s out

Well, he left the Army yesterday. Today I have been busy helping him get his resume together. It looks pretty nice if I do say so myself. It's pretty scary to think that he is unemployed. Work called today and offered me a weekend shift with one of my clients... I turned them down because I have so much to do this weekend. Considering we are losing our income in less than a month, maybe that was not the smartest of decisions.

Matthew has been so crabby lately; he is teaching me the lesson of patience. As is my husband who is IMing me from the laptop upstairs as I am trying to finish this.

Bobby is inviting you to play Dominoes.
Accept (Alt+Shift+A) - Decline (Alt+Shift+D)

Heather : Just a minute, writing in my blog.
Bobby: k
Bobby: your still sexy

Ok, so we are a little bit silly to communite by computers while under the same roof... but I guess we are both computer nerds...with 5 computers in this house.

Pretty mundane day

Lets see, today was a day of mostly errand running. I had to get some groceries from the commisarry... its kind of sad thinking that we won't be shopping there much longer. Bobby and I then took the decals off the cars... so now I need a pass to get on post.

The baby has been fussy today, but that is kinda just how he is, he's kind of a demanding baby in the gand scheme of things. Now I have to get some paperwork done. I have to send off some legal papers up to Washington state and some papers to my children's school.

Tonight Austin has a concert in a few hours; and then no work or school for the kids for 4 days. Work just called to see if I want to work a weekend shift, and I am not sure if I want to take it or not. I am not sure I can function another weekend without sleep.
